The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of associate wages, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a key part in supporting associates with payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Process biweekly and weekly payroll Review and verify timekeeping data, deductions, and earnings for accuracy Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, taxes, and deductions Assist with audits related to payroll, benefits, and tax reporting Prepare payroll reports for management as needed Coordinate with HR and Finance departments on employee changes and benefits deductions Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of payroll processing experience Experience with payroll and HR systems (Dayforce preferred) Familiarity with federal and state wage and tax laws High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation Experience in multi-state payroll processing
