Payroll Specialist

What You Will Do

• Process payroll accurately and timely for employees across the organization
• Verify attendance, hours worked, commissions, pay adjustments, deductions, and payroll changes
• Process payroll transactions including new hires, terminations, pay changes, garnishments, benefits, taxes, and manual checks
• Maintain and review payroll processing systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Reconcile payroll-related schedules and maintain accurate payroll records and reports
• Assist with time and attendance processing and payroll system interfaces
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, file issues, and employee payroll questions
• Partner closely with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate employee and compensation data
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, and company policies
• Support audits by preparing employee payroll records and documentation as needed
• Handle confidential payroll and employee information with discretion and professionalism
• Assist in identifying payroll process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Support the organization’s values, goals, and commitment to operational excellence

What We Are Looking For

• Strong understanding and application of payroll principles, rules and regulations.
• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven payroll experience in a fast-paced organization.
• Demonstrate knowledge of operating a personal computer and its applications.
• Highly proficient in computer skills and technology.
• Proficient with payroll & HR software.
• Accurate and meticulous in data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment.
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively and independently with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization
• Adhere strictly to all company rules, policies and procedures.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of Company information for which you may be privy to.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 / hour
