The Role:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the bi-weekly payroll and is the primary point of contact for employees who need payroll assistance. Responsibilities will include reviewing personnel forms for accuracy and completeness; collect, review and audit paper and electronic time and attendance records; respond to employee inquiries; process and submit payroll files to ADP; generate reports; and process off cycle manual checks. The Payroll Specialist will work cross-functionally with HR to process staff retirement contributions and other benefit payments; prepares and inputs payroll and benefit related general journal entries; completes and submits DOL and other regulatory reporting; and reconciles payroll accounts to ensure that all transactions are accurate and balanced.

What we’re looking for: 

Minimum two years of experience in payroll or other accounting role

Experience with a major payroll platform (ADP, Paylocity, Workday, UKG) a plus

Proficiency in general accounting software

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service both in person and via telephone or email

Ability to handle confidential information appropriately as well as exercise independent judgment and use discretion in the planning and performance of these duties.

High attention to detail with a strict adherence to recurring time sensitive deadlines

Ability to utilize technology provided to perform requirements of the job

Valid driver's license, proof of adequate automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required
