Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a six-week contract supporting a busy finance team in Bedford. This role is best suited to a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong ADP experience and the ability to step into a fast-paced environment with minimal ramp-up time.
The position offers a hybrid work model and flexible scheduling, including 9.5-hour workdays with every second Friday off.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Process end-to-end payroll for approximately 200–210 employees across multiple locations
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing and maintenance
- Verify payroll data entered by HR and ensure accuracy prior to final processing
- Manage payroll adjustments, corrections, and routine updates as required
- Maintain compliance with applicable payroll regulations and internal controls
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll cycles
- Support reporting and reconciliation tasks as needed
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is required
- Proven ability to process payroll accurately in a mid-sized organization
- Experience in multi-location payroll considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Comfortable working independently in a contract or coverage role, with a commitment to seeing the assignment through to completion for the full duration of the contract.
