Under direct supervision, processes time adjustments and changes to pay records; sets up and maintains payroll records and deductions; responds to department inquiries regarding time entry according to the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division regulations and University policy; works with time clock reporting departments to communicate time reporting issues; ensures integrity of payroll data in system; reconciles assigned general ledger accounts.
Essential Functions:
- Process in-house biweekly and monthly payroll.
- Maintaining employee records, including personal information, tax information, and employment status.
- Calculate employee pay based on hours worked, overtime, vacation time, and other factors.
- Ensure that all deductions, such as taxes and insurance premiums, are accurately calculated.
- Ensure that all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including tax laws, labor laws, and employment standards.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, including questions about deductions, paychecks, and taxes.
- Reconcile payroll accounts, including bank accounts and general ledger accounts, to ensure that all transactions are accurate and accounted for.
- Lead the quarterly testing of the payroll process.
Qualifications:
- Previous payroll experience preferred.
- High School Diploma
