The Opportunity
We're looking for a detail-obsessed Payroll Specialist to join our global payroll team. You'll process payroll, maintain employee data, support client billing, and ensure every person on our employer-of-record roster gets paid accurately and on time, every cycle. You do not need to have done this at global scale before, but you do need to be precise, accountable, and energized by getting the numbers exactly right. You'll work closely with senior team members and have clear pathways to grow as the function scales.
What You'll Own
- Support end-to-end processing and validation of multi-country payroll runs across established and developing processes.
- Input, validate, and reconcile payroll data: new hires, terminations, salary changes, leaves, and benefit deductions.
- Run pre-processing audits to catch discrepancies before payroll is approved and funded.
- Assist with off-cycle runs, manual payments, and retroactive adjustments.
- Use payroll data and internal systems to invoice clients for EOR and related services.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HCM/payroll platform, ensuring data integrity across systems.
- Respond to employee and client inquiries related to payments and invoices.
- Collaborate with the broader team to improve tooling and processes as our payment operations practice scales.
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, or a similarly analytical role — in-house, outsourced, or via an EOR.
- Solid grasp of payroll fundamentals: gross-to-net, statutory deductions, benefit contributions, net-to-gross/gross-up, and pay cycle mechanics.
- Experience with at least one HCM or payroll platform (ADP, Workday, or similar).
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills — comfortable building reconciliation worksheets and validating data sets.
- Organized under deadline pressure, a clear communicator, coachable, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
