The Opportunity

Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Finance Services Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the timely preparation and processing of Council's weekly pay cycle in accordance with Council's policies, procedures and relevant legislative and taxation requirements. The Payroll Officer is also responsible for preparing and processing superannuation contributions for all Council employees and processing any approved salary sacrifice deductions as per Council's standard working procedure.

In addition, an ideal candidate would have an understanding of the Local Government State Award, experience using payroll specific software such as Technology One/CIAnywhere, and experience in the coordination of salary packaging and employment contracts.
