Position Summary:
The Payroll Manager at Dreamliner Coaches is responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end payroll process for all company employees. This includes ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance with federal and state regulations, and effective coordination with HR and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full weekly payroll cycle including day rate, salary employees for Dreamliner Coaches and Dreamliner Truck
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, taxes, deductions, and garnishments
- Maintain employee payroll records in accordance with legal requirements and company policies
- Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate and timely entry of new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation
- Review and reconcile payroll reports, including pre- and post-payroll registers
- Provide required payroll tax reports to finance and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Act as point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies or concerns
- Maintain and manage relationships with payroll software providers
- Support audits and reporting related to workers’ compensation, benefits, and taxes
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting payroll-related expenses as needed
- Stay up to date with changes in wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and company policies
- Provide timely follow-up on all Tax notifications including research Dreamliner’s responsibility for such notices, closing of accounts and filing for accounts.
- Proactively seek efficiencies and opportunities to streamline the payroll process both internally and for the employees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HR, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of payroll experience required; 1+ years in a payroll supervisory or management role preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards (FLSA, IRS, DOL, etc.)
- Experience with payroll software platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
