Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Manage and review certified payroll reporting in accordance with government and contract requirements (e.g., prevailing wage laws)
- Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation
- Ensure adherence to all payroll tax regulations, wage laws, and industry-specific compliance requirements
- Prepare and review payroll-related reports, filings, and reconciliations
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll audits and inquiries
- Oversee employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and coordination with vendors
- Ensure accurate payroll deductions for benefits and proper reconciliation
- Manage employee expense reimbursement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies
- Review and approve expense reports for accuracy and proper documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems, and controls
- Provide guidance and support to payroll staff (if applicable)
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment across functions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of payroll experience, with significant experience in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms
