Your Purpose as a Payroll Manager:
- Lead the Payroll Department, including team leadership, accuracy, employee relations, and best practices.
- Oversee accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payrolls for 1,800+ employees, including direct responsibility for a portion of the payroll.
- Manage, mentor, and develop payroll team members.
- Serve as primary contact for payroll system implementations and enhancements.
- Ensure accurate entry of payroll and HR changes into Paylocity, along with time and attendance adjustments.
- Conduct weekly and monthly payroll audits to confirm accuracy and compliance.
- Provide reporting and analysis to leadership on payroll trends and exceptions.
- Maintain confidentiality, data integrity, and internal controls.
- Manage garnishments in compliance with state laws.
- Collaborate with dealership leadership on pay plans, commissions, bonuses, and payroll-related matters.
- Research and resolve payroll issues; escalate concerns when necessary.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and document payroll procedures.
- Oversee payroll/timekeeping system projects and train users.
- Stay informed on payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Payroll Manager strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, auditing practices, and compliance
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle
Additional Qualifications:
- Paylocity experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- Strong communication and customer service skills
