We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR/Payroll Specialist to join our team in Winston-Salem, NC. In this role, you will own the front-line payroll processes from reviewing timecards, accruals, benefits, process payrolls timely and administer yearly open enrollment. You will work closely with upper management to ensure an accurate payroll and assist with HR-related functions as needed.

- Process a biweekly payroll for approximately 275 project employees and a semimonthly payroll for 65 corporate employees. Verify batch totals to each Property Accountant and balance total payroll.
- Prepare final payout for terminated project and corporate employees.
- Maintain personnel files for project and corporate employees.
- Complete payroll verification requests, Employment Verifications, Social Security audit information, Child Support Enforcement, Unemployment forms, and Social Service inquiries.
- Setup payroll deductions for Child Support, Tax Levies, Garnishments, and Bankruptcy as mandated including processing fees.
- Prepare and report Quarterly Multiple Worksite Report for project and corporate employees.
- Complete annual Occupational Employment Survey.
- Prepare employee Family Leave authorizations, short-term disability applications and leave of absence requests
- Enroll new eligible employees for Medical, Dental, Life, AD&D, STD and Long-Term Disability Insurance.
- Maintain corporate 401K Plan
- Administer open enrollment for 300+ employees. Input new rates into HRIS system, test, upload plan documents, setup OE period, collaborate with health, medical, dental and vision providers for OE files. Enroll FSA/Dependent life contributions.
- Follow up on all employee annual evaluations/increases.
- Train upper management as needed in HRIS system related to timecard entries, time off requests, recruiting, terminations, reassign all new hires.
- Complete employer questionnaire for Unemployment claims and participate in hearings as needed.
- Send out yearly holiday schedules and payroll calendars.
- Year-end ACA and W2 processes
