Payroll & HR Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Payroll & HR Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Payroll Manager and assists with the day-to-day payroll functions of the organization. This position is primarily responsible for supporting payroll processing, maintaining employee payroll records, auditing data for accuracy, and assisting with HR and benefits administration activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Responsibilities

Assist with processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees Review and audit employee timecards for accuracy and completeness Process payroll-related employee updates including:

Direct deposit changes Tax withholding updates Earnings and deduction changes Benefit deductions and garnishments

Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation Assist with payroll balancing, audits, and reporting Support payroll imports, file uploads, and data entry within payroll systems Research and respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner Assist with year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and employee communications Help ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies Assist with process improvement initiatives and special projects Provide administrative support to the Payroll Manager

Human Resources Responsibilities

Maintain employee personnel and payroll files Prepare employment verification letters and other employee documentation Support HR projects and employee programs as needed Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in related field Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with payroll or HRIS systems is a plus

Interest in payroll, HR, or benefits administration career growth Basic understanding of payroll processes, taxes, and deductions Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively
