Payroll-Finance Assistant .6 FTE - Monday-Wednesday
JOB GOAL: To assist in the production of the bi-weekly payroll and general finance office operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Post secondary education or related experience
- Excellent PC computer skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to calculate and process mathematical calculations
- Strong organizational skills
- Such additions and alternatives to above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: CFO and Assistant Director of Financial Planning and Operations
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for quality and quantity of own work as assigned by supervisor.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and prepare AXA 401A information.
- Verify time and attendance data from time and attendance system and import into payroll system.
- Process payroll for part time and continuing education employees.
- Update payroll system for status changes for part time and continuing education employees.
- Provide payroll information to employees as requested.
- Assist with maintenance of Time & Attendance program; provide training and resources to staff as needed.
- Assist Special Education Dept. with quarterly payroll information for Cost Report.
- Identify systems and processes that can be automated and/or streamlined.
- Serve as back-up for Payroll/Bookkeeper.
- Assist General Accountant with processing of invoices for payment after verifying accuracy and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks as needed
- Serve as the backup to Accounts Payable.
- Accept additional assignments as directed by the CFO or designee
- Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about employees.
- Proactively work to utilize work day effectively; manage time to meet workload demands and building schedules.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with co-workers.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to respond to changing priorities.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month position; discretionary
EVALUATION: Performance of this discretionary position will be evaluated annually by the Chief Financial Officer.
