BASIC FUNCTION: The Payroll Coordinator will assist in the processing of biweekly payroll for approximately 650 employees located in eight San Diego facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with department managers and supervisors to ensure employees’ timesheets are accurate and approved within strict deadlines. Calculate gross-to-net payroll. Review for accuracy and compliance. Update employee payroll records for voluntary deductions and wage assignments. Prepare onsite final checks for terminated employees.
Prepare CA EDD UI benefit audits.
Collaborate with Human Resources department to ensure accuracy of all HRIS data. Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Generate and extract information from HRIS system for payroll reporting and other payroll related data. Participate in quarter-end and year-end activities including W2 reconciliations. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient knowledge of all aspects of payroll including taxable and non-taxable compensation, imputed income, pre and post-tax deductions, garnishments, shift premiums, paid-time off accruals, meal penalties, and 403B retirement plans. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work well independently and is a self-starter.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree or equivalent education, training and experience. 3+ years’ experience in high volume payroll processing with strong knowledge of payroll regulations. Experience in working with sophisticated HRIS system. Ceridian Dayforce a plus! Experience with non-profit organizations, senior living facilities, and managed care, a plus.
