Payroll Coordinator

Chinook’s Edge School Division (CESD) invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Payroll Coordinator at our Division Office in Innisfail, Alberta (20 minutes south of Red Deer and 50 minutes north of Calgary). The successful candidate will coordinate and provide direction to the Payroll Team, ensuring timely and accurate administration of pay and benefits for our 2,300 full-time, part-time, and casual employees. Working closely with the Payroll Team and the People Services Team, this position ensures high standards of pay and benefits administration as well as strong relationships with all employees. This is a full-time permanent position with guaranteed annual salary, full benefits (including a health & wellness spending account) and pension through the Local Authorities Pension Plan.

The successful candidate will have extensive professional payroll experience, ensuring compliance with employment standards, provincial and federal legislation, collective agreements, handbooks, benefit plans and pensions. Excellent leadership, team building, interpersonal and organizational/time management skills are required. Knowledge and high proficiency in preparing advanced data queries, analyses and reports using Excel/goggle, ERP software, and other applications are also required. Preference will be given to candidates with Canadian Payroll Association certification.
