- Process Payroll: Execute bi-weekly for all hourly and salaried staff
- Data Management: Input and update payroll data, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and tax withholdings.
- Deductions: Process benefit contributions and court-ordered wage garnishments.
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll transactions adhere to federal, state, and local wage regulations. Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with evolving regulations.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll discrepancies, inquiries, and tax related issues.
- Accounting Functions: Enter and pay all SG&A expenses.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of payroll taxes, labor laws, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strict confidentiality, and strong problem solving and communication skills both orally and in writing with internal and external counterparts.
- Time management skills – consistency and proactiveness are essential for the position.
- Detail oriented, deadline driven, organized individual able to handle multiple tasks while working independently or as part of a team across multiple departments.
- A proactive and independent work ethic, with a passion for continuous learning and process improvement, taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Trustworthiness and discretion regarding confidential company information.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting or payroll experience preferred.
- Experience with Paycor and QuickBooks is a plus.
- General understanding of accounting practices and principles.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines is critical.
