Job Title: Payroll and Finance Technician

Reports To: Director of Finance

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

SUMMARY Serves as the primary backup for payroll processing and cross-trains to provide support for benefits, accounts payable, financial reporting, and other Finance Department operations as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in both oral and written forms. Thorough knowledge and use of proper English, spelling, grammar and punctuation. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Thorough knowledge of arithmetic. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to analyze situations and take appropriate action in a variety of procedural matters. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
