We are looking for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist who is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processes, manages employee data within HRIS systems, completes onboarding activities, administers benefit programs, and oversees leave of absence administration and return-to-work coordination. Additionally, tracks HR data, supports compliance and reporting, collaborates with supervisors and managers, and assists with interviewing and hiring hourly technicians. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and a commitment to providing responsive, professional HR support across the organization.
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will need to demonstrate a solid work ethic through diligent effort, availability, accuracy, good decision-making, and keeping information confidential. This position will help backup the Office Assistant and/or Accounts Payable/Production Reporting position and support other members of the team as needed.

Education and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, or HR support role
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or hourly workforce environment (UKG platform) strongly preferred
- Prior involvement in recruitment or interviewing preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Pass a pre-employment background check, and drug screen

- Working knowledge of HR practices and HRIS systems: Understands core HR processes and learn to navigate multiple systems effectively (e.g., UKG Pro, Cornerstone, etc.)
- Technical skills: Proficient with computers, office software, standard office equipment, and phone system.
- Critical thinking: Evaluates options, identifies root causes, & applies nuanced problemâsolving strategies.
- Feedback: Demonstrates emotional maturity, accepts feedback constructively and applies it to improve.
