Payroll and Benefits Specialist
As a Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you’ll deliver payroll and benefits processing and administration for the organization including the maintenance and operational optimization of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) as system of record.
What you’ll do:
- Verify and process bi-weekly payroll, including required adjustments for Affinity and its subsidiaries
- Review payroll and benefits submissions for reasonability, analyze inputs, and validate internal practices
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HRIS
- Collaborate with payroll and benefit service providers regarding adjustments to employee benefits, including enrollment and terminations, monthly benefits billing, and initiating corrective action
- Maintain HRIS and other sources of employee data management, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Proactively identify and implement efficiencies including improved processes and development of technology-enabled reporting
- Process year end payroll reporting, with reconciliations and adjustments, including those related to taxable benefits
- Communicate with managers and internal groups for the initiation of employee changes throughout various systems across the organization

What you’ve got:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate knowledge and experience in payroll processing, employee benefits, payroll standards and principles
- Working knowledge of payroll/benefits systems or HR Information System (HRIS)
- Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel
