What You'll Do
As a Payroll Administrator, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, supporting employees, and helping ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations.
Payroll Processing & Administration
- Process end-to-end payroll cycles for salaried, commissioned, draw, and hourly employees
- Review and validate timesheets, attendance records, overtime, commissions, bonuses, and PTO balances
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule
- Audit payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies before processing
Compliance & Reporting
- Process federal, state, and local tax withholdings
- Administer payroll deductions including benefits, garnishments, retirement contributions, and other employee deductions
- Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, payroll regulations, and company policies
- Assist with payroll audits, tax reporting, and year-end processing requirements
- Prepare payroll reports and analysis for management as needed
Employee Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, pay questions, and timesheet issues
- Communicate payroll information clearly and professionally to employees and management
- Assist employees with payroll-related documentation and requests
Record Keeping & System Maintenance
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information
- Update payroll systems for new hires, terminations, promotions, pay changes, and tax document updates
- Assist with payroll liability reconciliations and account balancing
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive employee information

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of payroll, accounting, or related experience required
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables
- Experience with payroll processing software and HRIS systems
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax withholdings
- Ability to perform payroll calculations and reconciliations accurately
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive dealership experience
- Experience with payroll liability reconciliations
- Accounting reconciliation experience
- Experience working with multi-state payroll processing
- Knowledge of dealership management systems (CDK experience a plus)
- Experience with ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar payroll platforms
