Payroll Accountant

Our client, a well established Sacramento based organization, is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail oriented payroll professional with strong accounting skills and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for full cycle payroll processing and supporting key accounting functions. This contract to hire position offers a primarily remote schedule, with hybrid work (2 days onsite) after training. Key Responsibilities

• Process full cycle payroll accurately and on schedule
• Manage payroll taxes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Perform W 4 and payroll reconciliation
• Prepare and post payroll related journal entries
• Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to resolve payroll discrepancies
• Support audits and reporting as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in full cycle payroll processing; must have ADP Workforce
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations
• Experience with payroll reconciliations and journal entries
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
