Kiowa District Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Patient Accounting Clerk to join our Business Office team.

While our clinical staff care for patients at the bedside, our Business Office team plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the organization and helping patients navigate the billing process. What You'll Do

• Process and maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
• Assist with patient billing, payment posting, collections, and account maintenance.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment variances, and account concerns.
• Enter, verify, and maintain financial and patient account information within various software systems.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other software programs to track, analyze, reconcile, and report financial information.
• Assist with balancing accounts and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Prepare deposits and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with patients, insurance companies, vendors, and internal departments.
• Maintain organized financial, vendor, and patient account records.
• Protect confidential patient and financial information while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Support the daily operations of the Business Office and perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Two or more years of healthcare accounting, patient accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or business office experience.
• Experience with collections and payment posting.
• Experience working within healthcare financial systems.
