PARTNERSHIP TAXATION SENIOR MANAGER - OPERATING

POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Partnership Tax Senior Manager, you'll lead the team's production of primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns and provide tax consulting services for partnership clients – all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. You'll collaborate with the Partnership Tax team and make recommendations on return preparation and tax savings opportunities, focusing on accuracy, quality, and client service because together is how we succeed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate the tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage the client's Internal Revenue Code (IRC) 704b accounts
- Attract and mentor talented professionals
- Oversee the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; market, sell, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients and manage to budget
- Develop and maintain new business and client relationships, both with existing firm clients and new clients
- Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess their performance for engagement and year-end performance reviews
- Research and consult on various tax matters, primarily in Sub-chapter K partnership taxation; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure deadlines are met, and enhance client relationships
- Lead and support business development activities, such as identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities at clients
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Active CPA in the state of Texas or reciprocity to Texas (Required)
- Minimum ten years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting experience
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, partnership returns, joint venture and non-corporate entity tax returns, and strong understanding of Sub-chapter K partnership taxation (Required)
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Ability to travel as needed
- Must be able to step into the role quickly and effectively, guiding complex engagements and mentoring junior team members
- Capable of becoming "actionable" leaders within a short ramp-up period (3–6 months)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with partnership structuring, entity formation, and mergers & acquisitions
- Prior public accounting experience with Big 4 or top 15 firms
- Client revenue size experience of $50M to $1B
- Industry experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, technology, financial services, professional services, manufacturing, B2B, and B2C sectors
