POSITION SUMMARY: Accounting Associate (Part-Time)
The Accounting Associate plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations and serves as a trusted resource to the VP of Finance. This position is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including accounts receivable/accounts payable, general ledger activity, month-end close support, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Accounts Receivable activities, including deposits, collections, and customer statements
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Administer customer accounts:
- Set up new customers in ERP system
- Perform credit checks
- Maintain sales tax documentation
- Monitor credit limits and payment status
- Process credit card payments
- Partner with customers and state agencies to resolve sales tax inquiries
- Oversee all sales and use tax activities, including filing, payments, and reporting
- Support month-end close and assist with special accounting projects as needed
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable functions during absences or high-volume periods
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role
- Experience with sales tax software (e.g., Avalara or similar) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Outlook
- Experience with ERP systems; Acumatica experience a plus

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a part-time position (25 hours per week), working Monday through Friday. Schedule is flexible within standard business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
Hybrid work arrangement available following initial training period, with a combination of 3 days in-office and 2 days of remote work.
