Medical Billing Specialist - A/R

The Orthopedic Clinic Surgery Center is a growing, state-of-the-art, Ambulatory Surgery Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Our team of ten Surgeons, ten Mid-Level Providers and our dynamic clinical team are dedicated to providing compassionate and cutting-edge orthopedic care. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Medical Billing/AR Specialist.

This is not a remote position.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

As an Medical Billing/AR Specialist you will be responsible for collecting accurate payments and finding resolutions to outstanding client Payor account balances. . Other responsibilities of this position include:

• Maintaining a working knowledge and understanding of CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Utilizing the Medicare Direct Data Entry system to identify and resolve any claims that have been Returned to Provider
• Making necessary corrections to account
• Entering EOB correspondence from insurance companies
• Entering and following up with insurance companies request for medical records
• Providing follow up on accounts until they are resolved
• Reviewing and processing insurance requests for refunds
• Coding issues are researched for correct reimbursement according to rules and regulations
• Payments are researched as needed to insure compliance with contract terms
• Performing follow up with insurance companies on unpaid insurance accounts identified through aging reports

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of High School Diploma

• Previous medical accounts receivable experience

• Previous customer service experience, preferably in medical/healthcare setting

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Products, EHR software applications
