Manager, Client Accounting Services (CAS) – Professional Services Focus

In this role, you'll serve as a trusted financial partner to business owners and leadership teams, providing strategic guidance that helps firms improve financial performance, enhance operational efficiency, and make informed business decisions.

You'll oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and advisory services while helping clients navigate growth, profitability, and long-term planning. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and review outsourced controllership and accounting services for professional service clients 
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting 
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP 
• Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and profitability analysis 
• Develop financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting to support strategic decision-making 
• Analyze revenue trends, utilization rates, project profitability, and operational performance metrics 
• Standardize accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation to improve efficiency and accuracy 
• Serve as the primary financial advisor and point of contact for business owners and leadership teams 
• Collaborate with clients on growth planning, staffing decisions, pricing strategies, and operational improvements 
• Lead, coach, and review CAS staff work to ensure quality, timeliness, and consistency 
• Assist clients with accounting system optimization, workflow improvements, and technology implementation 
• Coordinate with tax, audit, and other advisors to deliver seamless client service

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably serving professional service organizations 
• Experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or CAS Manager in a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment 
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred 
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management 
• Experience analyzing business performance metrics and providing operational insights 
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or Sage Intacct 
• Experience with accounting technology platforms such as BILL, Expensify, Ramp, Fathom, or similar solutions 
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to business owners and non-financial stakeholders 
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
