Job Description

What will you be doing?

We’re seeking a Tax Manager to join our Tax Team in Dublin, which is responsible for providing tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients. 

The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of business tax clients and managing more junior members of staff as necessary. The role involves corporation tax advisory, ad hoc VAT and employer solutions advisory as well as overseeing the recurring compliance requirements of our extensive client list. You will also be expected to provide assistance to Directors/Partners in both client work and in the management of the group. You will actively be involved in and look to seek out working on special assignments and advisory projects where appropriate.

As Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include among others,

• Client work: Manage portfolio of businesses including SMEs and larger corporates.  Undertake corporate tax advisory work and some compliance for your portfolio.   Ability to get involved in variety of business tax work (e.g. ad-hoc advisory, international tax matters, R&D tax credits, awareness of VAT and employment tax aspects)
• Staff Management and development: Liaison with Partners, demonstrating strong management skills including appraisals/monitor staff performance.  On the job training for junior staff on a one-to-one basis
• Compliance: Ensuring S&W procedures are followed taking account of institute and revenue commissioners' guidance.  Ensuring department KPIs are met around billing and recovery targets

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have

• Significant corporate tax experience gained within the profession and or industry
• Ability to assist in complex client work as a technically capable tax adviser 
• Demonstrable experience of managing people and clients
• Appetite to develop business development skills to assist with the growth of the business
• Relevant qualification; Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax advisor (CTA) or international equivalent
