The Manager of Accounting and Sales Audit is responsible for overseeing the financial accuracy of sales transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and leading a team to execute daily and monthly audit functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring that revenue is properly recorded and reported.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Audit & Compliance:

Oversee the daily audit of sales transactions across multiple locations, platforms, and payment methods. Ensure all sales, refunds, and discounts are accurately recorded in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in sales records, payment processing, and reconciliations. Develop and implement internal controls to prevent fraud, loss, and financial misstatements.

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes related to revenue accounting. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the finance team to prepare audit schedules and support external auditors.

Leadership & Process Improvement:

Supervise and mentor a team of sales audit/accounting professionals. Establish policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Partner with IT and operations teams to improve financial systems and reporting capabilities. Conduct training sessions for staff on sales audit procedures and fraud prevention.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus). Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, sales audit, or financial control, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.), ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies. Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing team. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in retail, hospitality, or multi-unit business environments. Knowledge of POS (Point-of-Sale) systems and payment processing reconciliation. Familiarity with internal auditing and fraud prevention techniques.
