Position Overview:
The Lease Accountant is responsible for accurate data entry, system maintenance, and the transactional processing of the company's lease portfolio. This role focuses on inputting lease financial data into core systems, maintaining database integrity, processing payments, and supporting the team with time-sensitive payment requests.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or some accounting/lease experience
Accounting/lease experience wanted
Experience working with leases in some capacity preferred (lease abstracting, rent payment, lease administration, lease analyst, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret Leases
Location Requirement:
This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
Rent Processing & Financial Data Entry
System Data Entry: Input and process monthly rent payments using Lucernex and Microsoft Dynamics software.
Primary Vendor Contact: Serve as the main point of contact for gathering, verifying, and updating landlord and payee information.
Vendor Data Collection: Reach out directly to vendors to collect completed W-9 forms and confidential ACH/banking information & Conduct mandatory phone verifications to confirm banking details
Payment Coordination: Assist with the timely processing of Check and ACH payments by routing approvals and coordinating with the Accounting team.
Reimbursement Processing: Prepare standard, one-off reimbursement requests based on provided receipts and documentation
Administrative Support & Reporting Assistance
Journal Entry Support: Help prepare and post routine monthly journal entries under the guidance of the accounting team.
Audit & Document Retrieval: Pull requested lease documents and payment history to support time-sensitive internal and external audit requests.
General Team Support: Serve as a point of contact for basic lease data inquiries and complete other administrative duties as assigned.
Lease Document Entry & System Maintenance
Vendor Setup Requests: Act as the primary person responsible for receiving, processing, and executing all new vendor setup requests in the system.
Document Verification: Gather, organize, and file all necessary lease documents, ensuring files are complete and correctly named.
Data Validation: Coordinate with internal departments to verify that critical dates and payee details match the physical lease documents.

Physical Requirements:
In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions
Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings
Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.
Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.
Vision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.
Technology Proficiency: Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software.
Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
Compensation:
$53,800 - DOE
