Nautel is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team at the Hacketts Cove head office. This role is responsible for supporting core accounting operations.
This role operates with a high level of independence in day‑to‑day tasks and collaborates closely with other Finance team members, escalating complex or non‑routine issues as appropriate. This role is well suited to a detail‑focused professional who enjoys hands‑on accounting work in a structured, in‑office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process day‑to‑day accounting transactions across multiple legal entities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
- Act as backup for payroll processing.
- Perform foreign currency transactions, revaluations, and basic currency reconciliations
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting schedules for multiple companies
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, inter‑company balances, and control accounts
- Support inter‑company billing and reconciliations
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support internal controls and audit requirements
- Assist with sales tax, HST, and other statutory reporting across jurisdictions as required
- Respond to internal and external queries in a professional and timely manner
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems
- Provide general support to the accounting team as required
What you'll need
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of hands‑on experience in an accounting or finance role, with involvement in accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and general accounting activities.
- Working knowledge of invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and payroll processing in an operational environment.
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial data; exposure to manufacturing, multi‑location, or international operations is an asset.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with detailed financial reports and reconciliations.
- A disciplined, detail‑oriented approach with the ability to independently manage routine work and identify when issues require escalation.

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Sound analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods clearance in accordance with Section 15 of Canada's Controlled Goods Regulations, if becomes a requirement for the role.
