In this role, you’ll be at the financial heart of our operations, supporting our mission to move oil in a safe, reliable, and responsible manner for our customers, employees, and other stakeholders. You’ll prepare and maintain financial records and transactions, prepare quarterly and annual reports, and ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations. Your work will provide value in supporting strategic decisions that will ensure the integrity and sustainability of our vital infrastructure.
What You’ll Do:
- Handle and maintain financial data related to our pipeline operations, maintenance, and capital projects
- Support the full project accounting lifecycle, including project setup, cost tracking, accruals, and closeout to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Maintain capital asset records by assisting with assets placed in service, monitoring CIP balances, and supporting proper classification and retirement of fixed assets
- Apply company policies and accounting standards (GAAP/FERC) to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with capitalization and AFE requirements
- Track project spending against budgets/AFEs, review variances, and highlight discrepancies for follow-up
- Prepare monthly WIP accruals and assist in ensuring proper cutoff and completeness of project costs
- Participate in month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Support internal and external audits through data gathering, documentation, and reconciliations
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
- Assist in researching accounting guidance and documenting conclusions for specific transactions
- Follow internal controls and company policies, identifying opportunities for process improvement

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet or exceed these minimum job requirements to apply for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field*
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including fixed assets (PP&E), project and construction accounting, and capital vs. expense determinations. Proven ability to support cost tracking, variance analysis, and capital project reporting while ensuring compliance with GAAP. Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, external financial reporting, and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
- Strong technical knowledge in general accounting functions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications and/or various enterprise applications and reporting platforms
*Equivalent of experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above, we are looking for a candidate who possesses the following attributes:
- Highly proficient in the use of enterprise applications (such as Oracle Financials, Power BI, etc.)
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Experience mentoring or supporting team members in a collaborative environment
Work Location: Anchorage
Schedule: This is a regular exempt Anchorage based position on an urban schedule of a 40-hour week or 9/80-work schedule.
Band: L/M
