Lead Accountant

Job Description

The Lead Accountant reports to the Finance Manager. Hybrid work environment: 3 days in office, 2 days remote following successful completion of 90-day probationary period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Lead month-end and year-end closing, including financial reporting
• Oversight of general accounting and finance functions
• Update, prepare and circulate Daily Cash Report
• Additional ad-hoc accounting project, duties and reporting
• Assist the team with court submissions
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with implementation of and improvement of accounting systems, processes and internal controls
• Analyze financial data, identify trends or variances, and provide insights to management

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced Degree a plus
• 10+ years’ experience in accounting or finance function
• Prior experience in a lead or senior accounting role
• Professional services experience required, law firm accounting experience ideal
• Proven track record of data entry proficiency
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Accounting systems including ProLaw, Elite, 3E a plus
• Familiarity with Expense Reimbursement systems, including Concur
