About the role:
Are you a Junior Accountant ready to build your expertise in compensation and payroll within a dynamic, large-scale organization? Join our team to gain hands-on experience in accounting for payroll, bonuses, and accruals while strengthening your skills in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
In this role, you will:
- Support the team in delivering accurate and timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
- Prepare and post compensation‑related journal entries, including payroll adjustments, bonus reclassifications, accrual entries and ad-hoc records
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for compensation-related accounts (e.g., payroll, wages, accruals, benefits)
- Assist in the preparation of working papers, accrual calculations, and supporting schedules
- Contribute to variance analysis by identifying and explaining changes in compensation expenses
- Support internal stakeholders (e.g., Payroll, HR, FP&A) with inquiries related to compensation accounting
- Assist with audit support and documentation, ensuring clear and traceable records
- Participate in process improvements, documentation updates, and team initiatives
- Handle confidential compensation and payroll data with a high level of accuracy, care, and discretion
- Provides support on ad hoc projects
What you bring:
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance (preferably with exposure to month‑end, accruals, and/or payroll-related activities)
- Degree in Accounting or a related field
- Workday and Payroll experience is an asset
- Strong aptitude for improving and streamlining processes, with the ability to quickly learn new applications, procedures, and ways of working.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data with accuracy, discretion, and accountability
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively across Accounting, Payroll, and Finance teams
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow into broader responsibilities over time
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP systems is an asset

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $55,575 - $70,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
