Job Summary:
Entry-level accountants in the financial services industry provide essential support to finance and accounting teams by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Responsibilities include assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations and data analysis to support operations, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes specific to financial services operations.
- Reconcile bank statements, investment accounts and internal ledgers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings and client reports.
- Preparing and analyzing cost reports related to materials, maintenance, and overhead costs.
- Reconciliation of cost accounts, such as line maintenance and travel expenses.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly payment runs.
- Assist in the verification of new vendor banking information.
- Collaborating with operations and finance teams to improve cost efficiency.
- Maintaining cost accounting systems and ensuring data integrity.
- Preparing reports for management to support pricing and profitability decisions.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, variances or emerging trends in portfolio performance
- Collaborate with internal teams such as compliance, operations and client services to ensure accurate reporting.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits, internal controls and regulatory reviews.
- Provide administrative support and contribute to special projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
- 2 year of related experience preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and accounting software.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
