Our St. John’s, NL office is looking for a Junior Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to join our team!

In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Payroll & Benefits Administrators to help deliver accurate and timely weekly and bi-weekly payroll. You’ll play a key part in supporting timesheet processing, government remittances, year-end activities, and benefits administration - helping keep everything running smoothly. 

What will you be doing?

• Assist with payroll processing for 2 weekly and 2 biweekly payrolls, government remittances, RRSP remittances, monthly/quarterly and year end processes. 
• Assist employees with SAP timesheet entry, updates and inquires. 
• Updating employee changes and new hires to the payroll system and online benefit programs.  
• Monthly reconciliations for HAPSET, Group Insurance, union dues and parking remittances.  
• Work closely with the HR and Finance/Cost teams to provide support for adherence to Company Policies and Procedure, collective agreement and offshore standards.  
• Other duties as required by Payroll & Benefits Administrator or Department Manager.

We think you should have:

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance, or a combination of education and related experience 
• 1-5 years’ experience in a payroll administration role. 
• Completion of, or significant completion of, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification. 
• Knowledge of NL & AB Employment Standards, Pension, Benefits, WHSCC and HAPSET. 
• Experience completing Salaried, Hourly and Union Payrolls for larger organizations. 
• Working knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow and SAP is considered an asset
