- Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for consistent training of staff in inventory and operational procedures.
- Request, compile, and review forecast data, maintaining compliance with Standard Operating processes.
- Review slow-moving and excess inventory and create comprehensive action plans to push product and/or disposition strategy.
- Perform as an auditor for facility inventory and compliance.
- Facilitate Quality Control actions and issues, including but not limited to quarantine, tracking sales of compromised products, and ensuring their return.
- Champion new product roll-out, including ensuring new product levels and demand are accurate and feasible. Identify and reduce inventory levels for products made redundant by newer products.
- Manages inventory levels and assists with order processing in conjunction with manufacturing and purchasing to help to maintain the required inventory on hand to meet customer demand.
- Provide analysis and statistical reports for tracking and monitoring inventory.
- Track KPIs on inventory items.
- Coordinate cycle counts and other inventory activities.
- Communicates inventory purchase history to management to determine what should be held in inventory and appropriate balances.
- Interfaces with distribution vendor personnel regarding inventory management activities, including but not limited to cycle counts, issues, receipts, transfers, and stocking levels.
- Extends part numbers as required to distribution centers.
- Adjusts safety stock and re-order quantities to meet demand for distribution centers with input from the Distribution Center Manager.
- Drives operational excellence and best practices across the network with focus on a continuous reduction of cost and inventory to match demand.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant studies preferred.
- General Requirements / Technical Requirements & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or similar discipline.
- Basic understanding of accounting terms and concepts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and controls.
- Understand service and manufacturing operations, physical inventory processes, and inventory control procedures.
- Experience working with multiple levels of management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to travel as needed.
- Must not have any personal or legal domestic or international travel restrictions.
- High initiative level.
- Must possess good organizational and leadership skills and be familiar with terminology used in and around the business community.
- Proven leadership and problem analysis skills.
- Must be able to recognize and be discreet with sensitive financial, personnel, and other business-related information.
- Able to quickly adjust priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Able to read and understand technical and non-technical documents as related to contracts and purchasing.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in a written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Strong collaboration with Region Managers, Sales, and Operations Leadership, and plant personnel (Production and Shipping).
- Working knowledge/experience in understanding manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements.
- Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures, including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving, presentation, and analysis skills.
- Able to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
- Excellent understanding of costing/pricing the non-relationship, and ability to provide accurate data and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and Word).
- Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and record that conforms to the Company’s insurance policies, ATF, DOT, and State regulations.
- Work Authorization / Security Clearance:
- Authorized to work in the United States.
