Location: White Plains, NY — Hybrid
Salary: $120,000 - $135,000
Must have the following
- Minimum 5 years of international payroll experience, including managing payroll across multiple countries.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or payroll leadership experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Workday HCM or a similar global payroll system.
- Strong knowledge of international payroll laws, local tax requirements, labor regulations, and social security programs across multiple countries.
- Hands-on experience with international payroll processing, reconciliation, auditing, and compliance.
- Knowledge of international tax treaties, dual tax obligations, tax equalization, and shadow payrolls.
- Experience working with international payroll vendors and cross-functional payroll teams.
- Strong analytical, auditing, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead international payroll processing, reconciliation, and auditing across multiple countries, ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Ensure international payroll processes, tax obligations, and social security programs comply with applicable local statutory requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for international payroll matters, including escalations, compliance issues, and audits.
- Apply knowledge of local tax treaties to support dual tax obligations, tax equalization, and shadow payroll requirements.
- Partner with U.S. payroll, expatriate payroll, and international payroll vendors to meet processing deadlines and resolve payroll issues.
- Develop and maintain international payroll policies, procedures, SOPs, and training materials.
- Support U.S. payroll processes as needed.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, accuracy, efficiency, and employee service.
- Coordinate departmental projects, day-to-day operations, and longer-term payroll initiatives.
- Monitor time, attendance, overtime, and expense reporting for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Supervise team members by setting expectations, coaching performance, delegating responsibilities, and assisting with problem resolution.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee performance matters when necessary.
- Ensure payroll-related service requests are handled accurately and promptly.
- Maintain current knowledge of international payroll regulations, industry practices, technology, and emerging trends.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Collaborate effectively with employees, vendors, and stakeholders across multiple countries and functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of international payroll experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing payroll across multiple countries.
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- 2+ years of Workday HCM or comparable global payroll system experience.
- Deep knowledge of international payroll regulations, taxation, labor requirements, and social security programs.
- Working knowledge of international tax treaties, dual taxation, tax equalization, and shadow payroll.
- Experience reconciling and auditing international payroll transactions.
- Experience managing relationships with multiple international payroll vendors.
- Proficiency with Excel and standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, auditing, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across countries, functions, and stakeholder groups.
- Proven ability to supervise employees, prioritize competing deadlines, delegate effectively, and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours when necessary to support international payroll deadlines and business requirements.
