Internal Auditor

• Salary: €42,500-49,870/£35,000-41,096

​The Role

Oxfam Ireland have an established Internal Audit function run by our Internal Auditor. Our Internal Audit Charter sets out the purpose, authority, responsibilities and position of the Internal Audit function. A comprehensive risk assessed audit universe was created and this drives our audit plan. There is currently an approved audit plan in place. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to take up the role of Internal Auditor and build on the solid base that currently exists. You will continue to execute internal audits as per the approved plan and you will adjust the plan in line with any changes in risks profiles. You will report to the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee each quarter with updates on audit progress and issues. You will also need to work closely with the Leadership Team and management across the organisation.

Essential 

- Relevant accounting or internal audit qualification.  
- Member of a national accounting or auditing body or institution 
- 3+ years internal audit experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable experience of maintaining a high level of customer service and meeting deadlines.
- Self-starter with experience of working to deadlines and ability to use initiative, work independently, and prioritise a diverse workload effectively under pressure. 
- Highly numerate with the ability to produce accurate information and reports to set deadlines.
- Flexible approach to travel and working hours - as there may be some requirement to travel internationally and across the island of Ireland. 
- Strong commitment to Oxfam’s mission and values.
- Having the right to work in NI/ROI
​Desirable

• Experience with audits of programmes and projects funded by international donors and institutions, specifically Irish Aid and EU grants.
• Experience with charities in ROI or the UK.
