Job Title: Internal Auditor
Location: York Region, ON
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: $74,500-$94,000/year
Work Model: In Office

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audits in accordance with IIA Standards and internal audit methodology.
• Perform risk assessments to identify key business, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
• Evaluate both the design effectiveness and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Conduct independent audit and SOX testing and complete work within established timelines.
• Perform interviews, documentation reviews, walkthroughs, and data analysis to gather audit evidence.
• Maintain risk assessments for assigned processes and identify opportunities for control improvements.
• Track remediation activities and perform follow-up testing on identified deficiencies.
• Prepare audit and SOX deficiency reports for management and executive leadership.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and other Second Line of Defense functions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, Controls, or Compliance.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience preparing professional reports, presentations, and deliverables for senior leadership audiences.
• Familiarity with audit analytics tools such as Power BI (preferred).
• Experience with audit management systems .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess risks, identify control gaps, and recommend practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to simplify and communicate complex audit, risk, and compliance topics effectively.
• Highly adaptable and team-oriented with strong stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• Ability to build trust and maintain open communication throughout audit engagements.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
