Description

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
Reporting to the Controller – Shipyards, the Finance Intern will support the Corporate Governance and Tax teams to manage financial risks and support tax reporting requirements across the three shipyards at Seaspan Shipyards and the Seaspan Marine Group. This position collaborates with teams across operating divisions to manage financial policies and assess financial risks associated with corporate commitments and to support Seaspan’s tax needs. Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities are essential for this role. 

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 115 Carrie Cates Road, North Vancouver.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $28.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship:  Tuesday, September 8th, 2026.   

End Date of Internship: Friday, April 30th, 2027 (8-month)
