Reporting to the Manager, Finance, we are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant with 3-5 years of financial accounting experience to join the Corporate Accounting team. In this role, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of financial entries and in-depth analysis of the general ledger accounts supporting the financial statements of CI Investments and subsidiaries/affiliates.POSITION: Intermediate Accountant

JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, we are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant with 3-5 years of financial accounting experience to join the Corporate Accounting team. In this role, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of financial entries and in-depth analysis of the general ledger accounts supporting the financial statements of CI Investments and subsidiaries/affiliates.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist in the month end close process by preparing and recording journal entries
- Primary contact with portfolio operations for the processing of management fees and the calculation of expense recoveries from the funds
- Reconciling and preparation of working papers to support general ledger balances
- Analysis of monthly trends in expenses
- Support cash management by assisting with the processing of wires
- Assist with annual audits by providing supporting documents
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- At least 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience
- Investment/Mutual fund industry experience preferred
- Post-secondary education in Finance/Accounting
- Working towards a CPA designation preferred
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work efficiently to meet monthly reporting deadlines
- Detailed-oriented, extremely self-motivated and dedicated, and a good team player
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision / direction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications with a focus on Excel
- Experience with general ledger system an asset
