As Micromart continues to grow, we’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant to help build the financial foundation behind the business. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and working autonomously in a fast-moving environment.You’ll report to the financial controller directly and work closely with operations on everything from month-end and inventory reconciliation to payroll, tax support, and process improvements as we scale.This position is onsite based in our downtown Toronto office 5 days a week.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work across accounting, finance, and operations to help keep the business running smoothly while improving systems and processes as we scale.Some of the things you’ll own and contribute to:
- Month-end close and account reconciliations
- Inventory reconciliation alongside the Controller and COO
- US & CA sales tax filings and ongoing tax support
- Fixed asset tracking and amortization
- Interest accruals for long-term loans and convertible notes
- Unearned revenue reconciliation
- Payroll support
- Support with order placement and production planning
- Improving financial processes, reporting, and operational workflows as we scale
- Other adhoc duties
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Skills- 3–6 years of accounting experience (industry or public practice)
- Experience with inventory accounting and reconciliation
- Previous exposure in SaaS, revenue recognition, and Intercompany transactions
- Familiarity with Canadian and US tax processes (sales tax, payroll, corporate tax support)
- Comfortable working in modern accounting and operations tools like QuickBooks Online,
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP implementation or user experience a plus
- HubSpot, and other payment processing software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Currently enrolled in the CPA program or planning to pursue it (You’ll have mentorship and CPA experience support from our Controller).
- Mandarin speaking skills a plus not mandatory
