Job Description & Summary

A career in our Indirect Tax practice, within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever-changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.
Our team helps our clients optimise cash flow and reduce risk by managing challenges and identify opportunities related to indirect taxes. You’ll support our clients with all aspects of indirect taxation related to global, regional and domestic projects as well as comprehensive restructuring and compliance projects.

The Opportunity

As an Indirect Tax Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to: 

Deal with Canadian indirect taxes which include GST/HST, provincial sales taxes, excise taxes 

Advise and assist clients on indirect tax matters, which includes verbal and written communication with clients and tax authorities, researching legislation/case law/publications and drafting deliverables 

Assist clients with tax authority audits and appeals, tax registrations and elections 

Perform indirect tax due diligence and compliance reviews and health checks 

Build meaningful relationships with coworkers within the indirect tax group, the tax team and other service lines within PwC Canada and foreign PwC firms 

Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths and address development areas 

Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results 

Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems 

Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends 

Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance 

Know how and when to use tools available for a given situation and can explain the reasons for this choice 

Seek and embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives 

Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others 

Able to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality relationships

What you’ll bring 

This position ensures continuity and upholds our standards of excellence following the departure of a valued team member. 

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $100,100. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.  We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
