Income Tax Lead
 About the Opportunity
RCR Consulting is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our client, a highly successful, entrepreneurial financial services company. The company is known for exemplary customer service, a principle-centered business philosophy, and a team-based operating approach — and is looking to add a key member to its Tax Team.
The Income Tax Lead owns the income tax process end to end. This is an individual-contributor role that manages a process, not people — it does not carry direct-report or supervisory responsibilities.  This is a fully remote role but you must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, or Wisconsin.
This individual will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local income and franchise tax laws and regulations, working with both internal and external tax providers to ensure complete and timely filing and reporting. The Income Tax Lead will also manage all year-end income tax accrual computations in accordance with ASC 740 and related financial statement reporting, interact with federal, state, and local taxing authorities, and represent the company in tax controversy matters from identification through resolution.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical in decision-making, and a strong problem-solver. This person proactively looks for areas where taxes impact core business processes and seeks opportunities to improve processes and mitigate risk across the income tax function through tax planning — while staying current on tax statutory changes and quantifying the impact of legislative change on overall corporate strategy.
