What is the Position? Evercore is seeking a Associate to join its Human Capital Group (HCG), reporting to the Senior Associate of U.S. Payroll, supporting the U.S. Global Payroll Team. This role requires a meticulous, collaborative professional who thrives in a high-accountability, fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities: The individual will be responsible for payroll administration utilizing ADP Workforce Now and TMF Group for domestic and international payrolls. The global HCG team comprises approximately 75 professionals supporting a leading independent investment banking advisory firm of ~2,700.
- Support the Head of U.S. Payroll in end-to-end payroll operations across the U.S. (multi-state), Canada, Israel, and Asia
- Process regular and off-cycle payrolls (e.g., bonuses, RSUs, dividends, partner distributions), ensuring accuracy in taxation, reporting, and deductions
- Manage payroll data and systems, including Workday-to-ADP integrations, reporting, and database maintenance
- Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll inquiries while partnering cross-functionally with HCG and Finance, handling confidential information with discretion
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations (FLSA, SOX) and support tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting (e.g., EEO, workers’ compensation)
- Assist with payroll funding, wire reports, invoice processing, and documentation (including SOP development and maintenance)
- Prepare payroll reporting and analysis for leadership, Finance, Tax, and other stakeholders
- Leverage ADP, Workday, Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools to enhance payroll processing, reporting, and efficiency
- Participate in payroll-related and ad hoc projects, including benefits enrollment and expatriate payroll
Minimum Qualifications (required):
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of experience
- Proficient in ADP and Workday; experience with US and international payrolls (TMF Group a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills with comfort adopting new technologies, including AI tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; able to manage competing priorities
- Detail-oriented, proactive team player with global experience
- Sound judgment with ability to escalate issues appropriately
- Strategic, independent thinker
- High discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project management experience
Expected Base Salary Range: $90,000- $100,000
