Job Summary:
This Payroll Specialist handles all payroll related functions of the company. This includes processing payroll, as well as maintaining employee data, handling payroll questions and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing the company’s payroll process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes payroll records for all current/new salary/hourly team members, including W-4 information.
- Processes weekly hourly, bi-weekly salary and monthly expat payrolls.
- Maintains calendar indicating scheduled pay increases and dates when employees are to be added to benefits programs that require payroll deductions.
- Reviews and checks addition on weekly time reports. Checks with supervisor if there are any discrepancies in terms of unclear arithmetic differences, authorized overtime, shift differentials, or reasons for absences, either paid or unpaid.
- Enters hours and special pay or deductions on weekly payroll worksheets.
- Enters hours for non-exempt salary TM’s.
- Makes any required changes to employee information such as change of address, withholding, or regular deductions.
- Submits payroll for processing in a timely manner for proper distribution.
- Prepares manual payroll checks as required in case of payroll errors or terminations.
- Distributes payroll checks and mails or holds for safekeeping checks for absent employees.
- Process child support and garnishment orders.
- Respond to Unemployment Compensation and employment verifications.
- Prepares and submits the end of the month payroll reports to HR Manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Payroll Processing experience required.
- Previous experience with ADP Payroll system preferred.
- Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Strong computer skills and communications skills required.
- Korean and English bilingual candidates are preferred.
Education/Training:
- B. S. degree in accounting preferred, some college required
- High School Diploma/GED
