Senior Accountant - Decatur, IL
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of the monthly financial statements. A key responsibility includes the supervision of the regional Center of Excellence (COE) for Intercompany (IDT).
Requirements:
- ACCA or CPA Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at the Senior Accounting level, preferably in a Manufacturing Environment
- Strong technical accounting background including good working knowledge of international accounting standards
- Experience in cost management
- Motivated individual with excellent time management, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Advanced computing skills, including strong Excel skills
- Ability to be a strong team player
- Ability to multitask and manage under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory financial statements for assigned Caribbean Milling locations
- Team lead for the IDT center of excellence
- Ensure IDT entries are reviewed and booked timely
- Review and approve journal entries prior to posting to the General Ledger
- Review and approve reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and ensure that accounting records are accurately maintained in a timely manner
- Review and approve audit schedules
- Supervise Accounting Staff
- Provide management information and analyze accounting data
- Troubleshoot and diagnose accounting issues
- Variance analysis

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
