Job Title: HR & Payroll Administrator

Reports To:  Director of People & Culture
Location: Bridgeport, CT (Hybrid or Remote as approved)
Employment Status: Part-Time (25 Hours per Week)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Part-Time HR/Payroll Administrator provides administrative and operational support to the People & Culture function, with primary ownership of weekly payroll administration under the direction of the Director of People & Culture. This role is responsible for coordinating accurate and timely payroll processing, reviewing timecards, maintaining employee data in ADP Workforce Now, supporting onboarding and employee records, and assisting with routine HR administration.

This position requires strong attention to detail, discretion, reliability, and a working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, comfortable working independently, and able to support a high-volume HR function in a mission-driven, nonprofit environment.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position anticipated to work approximately 20–25 hours per week. Work hours may be flexible; however, availability during key payroll processing windows is required. Some remote work may be available based on operational needs, but occasional onsite availability may be required for employee support, records management, onboarding, or payroll-related needs.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to the Director of People & Culture and is responsible for owning payroll administration under their direction and oversight.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This role is primarily administrative and requires regular use of a computer, phone, and HRIS/payroll systems. The position may require occasional onsite presence in an office or zoo environment and interaction with employees across departments.
