JOB PURPOSE:

The HIP Financial Bookkeeper functions under the supervision and guidance of the HIP Director. This position is responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining financial and client data related to claims and premium payments. This role supports the HIP department by ensuring payments, tickets, and documentation are processed correctly and efficiently. While prior accounting experience is helpful, this position primarily requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data entry skills.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred.

Experience in data entry, administrative support, or payment processing required.

An accounting or healthcare insurance background is a plus, but not required.

Skills, Licensure, and Knowledge Requirements

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems (intermediate level preferred).

General computer literacy, including electronic transactions (ACH, bill pay, etc.).

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Strong communication skills for handling inquiries from clients and providers.
