We’re looking for a Group Financial Accountant
Based in Dublin, reporting to the AVP, Group Finance and Reporting, the role is responsible for supporting the group accounting function, focusing on the group close process, SEC reporting, Bermuda regulatory reporting and the oversight of the accounting systems for Hamilton on a global basis. The Group Financial Accountant is a key role which will work across our accounting and technology functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to build valuable experience with a best in class finance function.
What you will do
- Assist with the group’s SEC quarterly reporting and consolidation process
- Assist with the quarterly group close planning and rollforwards
- Assist with the preparation of group financials and supporting workbooks, including SEC required XBRL tagging
- Responsible for the quarterly close process for the Group's holding company
- Assist with the Group’s Bermuda regulatory reporting (Bermuda Solvency and Capital Return)
- Liaise with external auditors as required
- Supporting the finance team with group processes and training
- Support the SUN General Ledger system. Setting up new General Ledger codes and analysis codes, reviewing FX rates and opening and closing periods
- Support in the analysis and implementation of process improvements
- Other ad hoc projects as required
What you require for the role
- Recently qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Insurance accounting experience key
- Strong technical accounting general knowledge
- US GAAP/public company reporting experience desirable
- Proficient user of accounting ledgers (SUN desirable)
- Workiva/Wdesk experience desirable
- Strong user of MS Excel
- An ability to multi task in a fast paced team environment
- Willingness to flex work priorities in support of time sensitive team goals
- High level of attention to detail
